Featuring the largest long-term residential medical center of its kind in the United States.This is a Per Diem position with (12) hour shifts, 7a-7:30p/7p-7:30a.In collaboration with the Nurse Manager for each unit, ensure safe, appropriate, and goal-directed care is provided consistently. Provide support and direction to nursing staff on evening and night tours of duty and ensure the implementation of Nursing Department policies and procedures.Position Functions and Responsibilities:

Promote Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission and Core Values of Respecting and Embracing Diversity, Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Evolution, Growth and Change, and Loving Relationships.Perform clinical evaluations of residents for acute illness or change in status.Provide medical services for residents with chronic issues as needed.Order medications and ensure proper administration.Provide emergency services for residents and staff as needed.Assist Employee Health office with immunizations, PPD placement and reading, and staff assessments.Address abnormal laboratory results and document assessment and plans.Order and arrange the transfer of residents to acute care facilities as indicated.Write thorough notes including history, physical exam, assessment, and plan for resident encounters.Use electronic medical record for notes and orders.Provide end-of-shift sign-out to nursing and medical staff.Make rounds to ensure all residents are seen at least once per shift.In partnership with the nurse supervisor, take an active role in education, support, and guidance of staff.Meet with parents, physicians, other staff, and/or administration as needed.Maintain knowledge base through continuing professional education programs and provide documentation to the medical staff office.Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by supervisor, department director, and/or administration.Qualifications

Education Requirements:Graduate of an accredited RN program.B.S. N.; M.S.N.N.P. Board Certification required.RN and NP in the State of New York.BCLS certificate.PALS certification preferred.Completion of courses mandated for continuation of RN license (e.g., Infection Control course; Child Abuse course).DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Certification is required.Experience:

Minimum of two years pediatric experience.Minimum of three years’ experience in supervision.Experience in pediatric and adolescent chronic and restorative nursing modalities preferred.Salary:

$90/Hr.
