Administer all aspects of the organization's volunteer program including recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers. Seek out and organize community activities, outreach, and collaborate with external groups to strengthen and encourage community service. Support the strategic goals and mission of Helping Hands Hawaii.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Assist in the development and maintenance of a comprehensive volunteer program in alignment with Helping Hands Hawaii's mission, vision, and core values.Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with collaborative partners to ensure mutually agreed upon expectations of community service.Gather information about volunteer needs, skills, availability, and goals; and match volunteers with appropriate opportunities based on this data. Identify and recruit using a variety of appropriate resources and techniques.Communicate with all department heads of the organization to identify and promote available opportunities. Regularly communicate with volunteers to ensure placements are a good fit for individuals' skills and goals.Coordinate community fairs and other organizational events where volunteer recruitment is required or highlighted.Schedule, coordinate, and assign volunteers to appropriate departments, supervisors, and/or mentors.Maintain confidential files, records, applications, and other data concerning volunteers. This includes conducting criminal background checks, sex offender checks, orientation, and performance of volunteers.Draft and maintain guidelines, best practices, and procedures for the volunteer program.Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities.Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in social science or related field, communications, business/marketing, or human resources field from an accredited college or university and 1 year of related experience.Effective communication skills (i.e. verbal/written and listening skills).Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to utilize a computer.Ability to work directly, cooperatively, and collaboratively with multi-faceted and multi-ethnic programs, staff, and volunteers.Valid Driver's license and willingness to use a properly insured car.Prior supervisory experience.Must be able to work some Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications:Relevant experience in public benefit programs, working with low-income or homeless individuals, and/or volunteer coordination in a non-profit social service setting.Relevant program development experience, to include assessing community needs, developing program ideas, and implementing programs to meet those needs.Must comply with company code of ethics, confidentiality practices, HIPAA, safety, and all other policies and procedures.EEO/AA/M/F/Vet/Disability
