Recycling and Program Analyst . The Utilities Department is comprised of five divisions including Water, Wastewater, Reclaimed Water, Electric and Solid Waste. We provide a 4/10 work schedule (Mon-Thu) for most positions and rotating schedules for operations staff. Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in environmental science, public administration, business administration, or a related field.Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative or program management experience related to waste reduction, recycling, or a related field.Skills/Abilities

Research, analyze, evaluate, understand, interpret, and apply systems, policies, procedures, and guidelines, and develop recommended solutions.Develop and create brochures, flyers, social media advertisements, and other educational marketing, public relations, and communications programs using a variety of computer programs.Successfully make presentations while providing information in a clear, concise, and informative manner at public meetings or forums including public and private organizations, City staff, and businesses.Understand, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations relating to waste reduction and recycling.Conduct direct outreach, education, and training to all waste generators.This position is FLSA Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime compensation.Application Process

Those applicants deemed to possess the most desirable qualifications will be invited to participate in a written exam. Applicants with the highest passing scores will be invited to participate in the oral interview. The written exam is tentatively scheduled to take place on September 25, 2024 and the oral interview is tentatively scheduled to take place on October 9, 2024.The successful candidate will be required to undergo a reference/background check including livescan and pass a pre-employment medical examination (which will include a drug/alcohol screening).The Ideal Candidate

The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. Policy making and legislative authority is vested in the City Council, consisting of a Mayor and four Council Members. Members of the City Council are elected by District to a four-year term. The Mayor is selected by the Council and serves as the presiding officer for one year.The City is organized into the following departments/organizational units: Community Services, City Manager's Office, Economic Development, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and Risk Management, Police, Planning & Development, Public Works and Utilities. Oversight of these departments is divided between the City Manager and two Assistant City Managers.The City's total operating budget for Fiscal Year 2025 is $399.1 million with a General Fund operating budget of $209.6 million.
