Systems Engineer - Principal I

to assess, design, and develop an agile, DevOps oriented, cloud-centric, requirements driven, autonomously orchestrated architectures and environments to ensure the rigor, consistency, and continued reliability of mission critical environments.

of professional directly relevant engineering experienceResponsibilities Include:Working with the Chief Cloud Engineer to develop advanced, leading-edge, cloud-oriented automation and orchestration architectures that provide rigorous, self-validating cybersecurity capabilities to a major U.S. Government customerWorking to help define and communicate a shared technical and architectural visionLeading Agile Scrum teams in the system design and implementation of advanced, cloud-oriented autonomous cybersecurity capabilitiesOperates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision, and mentors or supervises employees in both firm and technical competencies.Interfacing directly with customers, stakeholders, and end-users regarding capability architectures, requirements, use cases, and stories to derive, develop and decompose next-cycle updates and specifications.Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs/requirementsFull lifecycle oversight of requirements driven automation architectureRequired Skills:5+ years

direct experience in either complex autonomous package builds, autonomous api driven backends, infrastructure automation and orchestration, event driven micro-service architectures, orchestrated infrastructure automation, or configuration driven deployments2+ years

of experience in either AWS, MS Azure or GCPAbility to work effectively as a leader, in a group, or as an individual contributorScrum Master, Tech Lead, or Product Owner ExperienceExperience communicating with senior leadership, either at Customer, VP, or Director levelsAbility to shape key stakeholder direction and influence outcomes through the analysis of information and identification of relevant factsIndependently driven, with excellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong working knowledge of either multi-environment autonomous orchestration, automation tooling, pipeline deployments, or software application integrationHands on experience in creating or implementing either api driven workflows, event driven automation, autonomous infrastructure or autonomous software processes and workflowsDemonstrated experience with Lean-Agile principles, metrics, and technology and/or experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Lean Thinking, Lean Six SigmaExperience with agile tools, including Jira and Jira Align and ConfluenceDesired Skills:Experience leading teams and projects at either the tech lead or product owner levelFamiliarity with Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Git, Ansible, Chef, AWS lambda, terraform or cloud native tools like CloudFormationProgramming/Scripting experience (Java, Javascript, .Net, Python, Ruby, Bash)Familiarity with using, updating, and programmatically manipulating Linux and WindowsExperience with NTP, DNS, Networking, LDAP, or Software repositoriesExperience with branching and release strategies, CI/CD PipelinesAWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation experienceExperience designing and implementing event driven microservice architecturesExperience in technical oversight of individuals and projectsExperience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environmentsDesired Certifications:Agile software development methodology certification (e.g. SCRUM Master) highly desired.AWS Associate Architect certificationRequired Education:Bachelor’s degree in Systems/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field.2 years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.
