Position Summary:The Director of Annual Giving and Special Events is a key member of the development team. This person is responsible for planning and implementing strategies for the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors as well as managing and coordinate the Clubs major special events to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee's annual campaign. This position will oversee direct mail and e-mail solicitation strategies and manage the individual solicitation process for donors up to $10,000. This person will also be responsible for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to manage and coordinate the Clubs four major annual special events. The Director of Annual Giving and Special Events will focus on strategically expanding the organization's annual giving program to increase the base of annual fund support.Job Responsibilities:Annual Campaign ManagementCollaborate with the Senior Director of Development to establish benchmarks and regular reporting processes to measure the results of all annual fund activities.Develop, plan, coordinate and execute comprehensive stewardship plans to creatively engage annual fund donors, in-kind donors, individuals, trustees, corporations and trustees in collaboration with the development team and President's office.Create and implement a structured roadmap that simplifies the process of engaging donors over time through various outreach methods and channels.Segment donors into groups to tailor communications and specific touchpoints of engagement.Ensure stewardship initiatives are represented in development department budget.Outline a communications strategy and stewardship matrix for donors.Evaluate plan on a biannual basis making enhancements and adjustments as needed.Manage biannual comprehensive direct mail solicitation programDesign and manage a comprehensive direct mail program and online giving strategies and analyze Direct Mail/e-mail solicitation program results data to refine and increase ROI.Strategically manage a portfolio of individual annual fund donors and prospects with gifts of up to $10,000.Work with Director of Development to establish revenue goals for fiscal year.Collaborate with the Director of Development to establish benchmarks and regular reporting processes to measure results of all annual fund activities.Write and update acknowledgement letter templates in partnership with the Grants and Communications Manager.Support marketing department with direct mail vendor relationships; ensure printing deadlines are met.Manage trustee solicitation process, stewardship, and related eventsProvide support for quarterly Board meetings, including board portal support and coordination, attendance, and onsite meeting support day-of with President's office.Develop, plan, coordinate and execute stewardship plan for trustees and their donor contacts based on interest and availability of trustees.Collaborate with Senior Director of Development to leverage strategic corporate asks for trustee employers.Collaborate with Senior Director of Development to leverage strategic individual asks for trustees.Plan, coordinate, and execute new trustee onboarding event in collaboration with President's office.Manage, coordinate and implement bimonthly Trustee Mission Moments in collaboration with President's office.Host, manage and organize annual campaign letter signing engagement opportunities with the Board of TrusteesOther related duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Development.Special Event ManagementOversee the planning and full execution of BGCGM's Annual Fundraising Events, including MVP - A Salute to Youth Gala, S'more Fun at Camp, President's Society, and the Holiday Gift Drive.

Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure the execution of events including third-party event companies, event venue staff and all third-party sub-contractors for each event.Works with the BGCGM Marketing Department on all promotional materials needed for Special Events including, but not limited to invitations, updates/reports to the President's Office, Run of Show, thank you letters, sponsorship details, website updates, social media posts and more.Help managing event committees for MVP - A Salute to Youth, and S'more Fun at Camp. In collaboration with Senior Director of Development, help to manage and support the committee's efforts to recruit sponsors, donations, and ticket sales for each event.Manage all other volunteer aspects of BGCGM special events including corporate volunteers for Holiday Gift Drive Wrapping.Work in collaboration with Area Directors and Club Managers to facilitate delivery and distribution of gifts to Club members for the Holiday Gift Drive.Coordinate all mailings and track attendance and other critical metrics using Raiser's Edge NXT dashboard for all special events.Help with post-event stewardship including but not limited to gift acknowledgement, thank you calls, and sponsorship invoices.

Assist with media events such as check presentations and naming dedications.Collaborate with BGCGM Marketing Department on video and digital content needs to support events and other BGCGM marketing opportunities.Assist other departments with events and activities as necessary.Education Requirements:Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of fundraising experience and proven track record for non-profit event management or other relevant experience.Position Requirements:Demonstrated track record of developing and retaining successful relationshipsAbility to collect, organize and analyze data related to donor givingComprehensive knowledge of gift processing and acknowledgment practicesWell-versed in direct mail and e-mail solicitation best practices and implementationProficient in Raiser's Edge or comparable donor databaseExcellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skillsMust be strategic and forward-thinkingAbility to work easily with volunteer leadership and all club constituenciesAbility to manage several projects simultaneously is a mustGoal-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlinesDetail-orientedPositive attitude and undeniable passion for playing a role in fulfilling the organization's missionAble to travel throughout the Milwaukee area to attend donor meetings and events; some evenings and weekends requiredPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
