Sandy Park Development Center provides support for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. We do this through community involvement and participation as well as enrichment opportunities throughout their life. As a member of our staff, you will be a part of one of these living centers and provide vital around-the-clock care, which includes nursing and medical oversight, to our residents.Facility Name and Address:Sandy Park Development CenterFort Myers - 33917Purpose:This position directly supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Effective communication with residents, families, and staff must be able to see, hear, speak, read, and write English.Supervise, direct, and evaluate nursing staff.Oversee all nursing clinical operations, which includes but is not limited to pharmacy, nursing, infection control oral hygiene programs, medical, medication or other order changes.Conduct assessments and provide care for residents as necessary and provide staff with education on and in instruction on resident-specific or global needs.Coordinate medical services by working closely with staff and Health Care Providers to ensure optimal health for the residents.Coordinate and implement all healthcare-related training necessary to meet the needs of the residents on an ongoing basis. Actively participate and provide education related to nursing.Participate in all functions associated with the Executive Nursing Committee, as required.Coordinate and chair the infection control meeting as well as clinical and nursing meetings.Conduct regular facility rounds to ensure that the facility is in compliance with regulations and the health-related needs of the residents are being met.Actively participate in visits from APD and the development of any plans of correction.Routinely review resident records and reports of injuries, accidents, and illnesses to ensure proper follow-up.Ensure that the nursing budget is maintained.Maintain 24-hour on-call availability for the facility.Required Qualification:Registered Nursing license for the State of Florida. Supervisory experience and experience working with people who are developmentally/intellectually disabled and long-term care knowledge required.Preferred Qualifications:2-5 years of DON/Management nursing experience preferred.Salary/Hourly Rate:Start $95,000 - 105,000 vary depending on experience.Working Conditions:Standard use of workstation/med cart.Repetitive use of keyboard.Maintain the ability to stretch, push, pull, kneel, reach, twist, walk, and stand for up to sixteen (16) hours, up to three (3) times per week.Perform the physical requirements of Safety Care.Demonstrate the ability to lift unassisted at least thirty-five (35) lbs.Documenting in THERAP system.Required Materials:Resume.3 Work References.Drug Free Workplace:Random drug test will be conducted.A criminal history background check and sex offender registry check will be required for the finalist under consideration for this position.Equal Opportunity Employer:DSI Management, LLC and all supported companies, as an equal opportunity employer, complies with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination.
