Your work will be seen by billions of shoppers and will be featured throughout the Amazon mobile app. Inspire is Amazon's mobile-only discovery, browse, and social shopping experience, and you will play a critical role in the architecture of backend services, implementing new features for Amazon customers, and work across product and personalization teams to bring Amazon inspirational and social shopping into the future.

Key job responsibilitiesAs a Sr Software Development Engineer on the Inspire and Amazon Native Player (ANP) team, you will build new features for the Amazon mobile app such as: Liking/Hearting Content, Sharing, and Follows for the creators of content. You will integrate personalization and recommendation algorithms from our industry-leading personalization team. When you need to think strategically, you will be part of the team that envisions the future of inspirational and social shopping, and you will develop technical and architectural roadmaps to achieve new experiences for navigating content (videos) and products.

About the teamOur team thrives on experimentation and building immersive experiences on the Amazon mobile app. Our mission is to become Earth’s most loved destination for recreational shopping and serendipitous discovery. To achieve this mission, we work with designers and product managers to envision a seemingly endless number of potential experiences we could build and prioritize the best of the best to build experiments from. Sr SDEs on our team are constantly seeing their work evolve on the Amazon app and you almost always have something new to show your friends and family that you just launched on the app!

Basic Qualifications5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
