Job OverviewThe Director of Housing will be responsible for the operation of the housing counseling program to include the expansion of current program offerings, management of existing programs, development and implementation of program policies, enhancements and service levels, ability to identify and obtain program grant funding support and capability for timely and proper completion of housing program related reporting requirements.DutiesManage existing housing counseling program daily operations in accordance with federal and other applicable regulations and grant funding requirements, making suggestions for operational improvement where appropriateExpand current housing program offerings by evaluating community needs and HUD grant programsObtain grant funding or other financial resources to support housing program offerings and manage operations to exceed annual budgetary goalsEnsure proper and timely completion of all program reporting using the appropriate or prescribed operational platform/softwareOther duties as assigned by management.Skills5+ years previous knowledge of housing counseling concepts and terminology and demonstrated experience with managing a non-profit housing counseling operation consisting of programs such as Pre-Purchase, Foreclosure Prevention, Homebuyer Education, Reverse Mortgage, Rental Housing, etc.5+ years HUD approved counseling agency management or supervision experience.Understanding of all applicable housing program regulations and specific housing agency requirements.Demonstrated ability to secure grant (or other) funding for housing programs.Hands-on experience with the preparation of reports required for compliance with funding opportunities.Prior demonstrated ability with the development of new housing programs including the drafting of related policies, procedures and processes.Ability to understand financial and budgetary concepts and prepare annual budgets.Willingness and capability to work overtime when necessary.Skill Requirements:Strong interpersonal and demonstrated relationship building skills.Ability to foster a positive and productive work environment with ability to lead, build teams, and motivate staff.Demonstrated proficiency with various housing program software.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.What do we have to Offer?
