Job Description:
Parsons is now hiring for a
Traffic Lead Engineer
to join our team! In this role you will supervise a group of five or more Engineers and design personnel, usually in one discipline, by directing technical engineering assignments and coordinating project staffing assignments. We are adding experienced staff in multiple sectors due to exciting new project awards, inclusive of the Georgia SR 400 Express Lanes project.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead design development and engineering decisions
Interface regularly with contractors to ensure project alignment and progress
Maintain hands-on involvement with software applications relevant to engineering tasks
Serve as Engineer of Record for traffic-related deliverables and plans
Review work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable
Monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel
Conduct performance evaluations, take corrective action as necessary, recommend promotions and salary actions, and recommend training and development for assigned personnel
Help define scope of work, design criteria, schedule, standards, and procedures for project assignments
Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule
Provide technical direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional technical staff assistance as the situation warrants
Promote technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process
Ensure that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures
Ensure that discipline design work is coordinated with project staff and Engineers from other disciplines by maintaining clear and frequent communications
Advise engineering and project management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could affect project completion and/or profitability
Initiate and/or review change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work
Recommend design methods, equipment use, etc., for discipline standards
Supervise the production of project drawings and design calculations
Maintain affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies
Recommend and prepare technical papers
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum of 12 years of related work experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license registration is required with the ability to secure GA PE within 3 months
Requires co-location in Peachtree Corners with local travel to project site office as needed
Demonstrated ability to perform in a lead capacity
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with industry practices, standards, and regulations
Thorough knowledge of current technology and engineering software applications
Minimum Clearance Required to Start:
Not Applicable/None
Salary Range: $104,200.00 - $182,400.00
