You will do this by living out our core values in every service contact to both internal and external members.Deliver on the Credit Union’s Promises in every service situationDevelop and Maintain an effective level of product knowledgeIdentify members’ financial needs and recommend appropriate Credit Union solutionsInform members of loans available within the Lending Policies of the credit unionIncrease loan volume by cross selling additional loan products, using information obtained from the member and/or credit reportOpen New Accounts, new IRA accounts, certificates of deposits, and various other share and sub accounts. Tell new members and potential members about our MFCU products and services and how the member will benefit from these products & servicesBe a visible presence in the local community. Promote the credit union and gain leads through participation in business, community, chamber, and charitable organization activities as assignedTravel is required to various branch locations to cover shortages in staffingThis position is an in branch/office role, must be available to work 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F, Saturday coverage as needed, and some outside of normal working hours for meetings and/or education/trainingsDuties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.Create opportunities for expanded member relationship by determining the needs for additional product and services; recommend appropriate Credit Union solutionsProcess member’s cash and checksOperate and balance a cash drawer as neededHandle inquiries on member’s accounts, statements, and historiesProcess check orders as neededSell Visa Gift and Travel Cards and cashier’s checks/money ordersCollect any fees as required for servicesRemind delinquent members that their payments are dueNew AccountsThoroughly explain products and services to members. Prepare and process documentation for new accounts and collect share depositAssist with the new accounts auditing processPrepare an adverse action letter when products are deniedBe knowledgeable in IRA laws and paperworkSuccessfully use effective Sales Champion skills and behaviorsActively participate in Credit Union initiatives, promotions, and achieve assigned financial service goalsBuild relationships with current and new members. Offer products and services that will help to fulfill their financial needsAssists with the onboarding process that continues to build relationship with new membersOtherAnswer telephones and handle member inquiriesProcess mail as requiredAttend education functions as requiredOther duties that may be assigned from time to timeQualifications and Expectations

Minimum high school graduate or equivalentMinimum 1-2 years related experienceSkills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookThe ability to attain the Financial Counselor Certification (CCUFC) through CUNA within the first 6 monthsLicenses & Certifications
