The role holder needs to ensure timely and accurate regional reporting of the financials. The successful person will review the finance team’s processes and capabilities so that it is scalable and runs in an efficient manner. The person will serve as a key advisor to the Vice President, Finance and Operations and help provide financial recommendations for longer-term plans providing financial direction. The role holder will also work with senior finance colleagues globally to ensure smooth reporting and consistent and efficient practices across the region. The Controller will supervise our Accounts Payable Specialist, Accounts Receivable Specialist, Tax Manager, and Staff Accountant.

This position is based in Concord, MA and will work a hybrid schedule, in office 3 days per week.Key Responsibilities:Ensure that the finance team reports in a timely and efficient manner, personally participate in the monthly close.Prior experience with the consolidation of multiple business units, with a focus on proper revenue recognition.Provide financial and strategic insights – leveraging the data within our systems.Monitor the financial performance of the region and financial risks – highlighting issues in a timely manner.Implement practices that streamline key finance processes – ensure that the region can scale to match growth aspirations.Work with senior finance leaders across the business to ensure practices and processes are consistent from a regional perspective.Lead the development and agreement of annual budgets for the region.Ensure that any acquisitions are integrated efficiently.Using well established tools to tell stories with data that will guide future decision making.Continuous improvement mindset – looks for ways to increase efficiency and optimise ways of working, both within the team and with colleagues outside the US.About the Candidate:The right candidate for this role will have proven success in a regional controller role or a highly influential secondary role within a complex organisation (prior experience in a sales and/or service distribution type organisations is required); Experience of leading change, system implementation and improving processes and driving efficiencies; An ability to understand the control systems and mechanisms used for financial reporting in order to propose and define future requirements within a changing organisation; Can work in a highly networked organisation with many competing priorities and stakeholders; Experience effectively leading the finance function; and the ability and drive to improve processes.We need a strong leader who is able to develop a clear view of the long-term (3-5 year) direction of the region – work in partnership with leadership and to ‘stand outside’ day-to-day activities and see how these relate to the region and wider business.Additional Qualifications:Able to challenge the status quo, whilst being objective, and maintaining effective relationships with other leaders.Understands and takes account of interdependencies and links between different parts of the business.
