: Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of ChicagoJob Description****This position requires some night shift coverage, but does not require travel to multiple job locations.

Sorry, new grads are not eligible for this role.Perform all dialysis and pheresis therapies to patients admitted to the hospital according to procedures/protocols/guidelines. The procedures include, but are not limited to hemodialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, peritoneal dialysis, and pheresis (aquapheresis, lipopheresis and plasmapheresis).Perform nursing assessments utilizing a variety of assessment methods and/or area-specific tools.Anticipate impending clinical changes during the procedures and intervene effectively.Serve as the clinical resource and expert for all dialysis and pheresis therapies throughout the hospital. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop educational resources and courses.Communicate and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team for scheduling and performing dialysis procedures.Incorporate current hospital and departmental quality initiatives into daily activities.Develop and provide dialysis and pheresis patient education relative to the family needs.Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesBachelor's degree in nursing or higher required. For positions that are identified as difficult to fill, CNO may allow approval for hiring of candidates with an Associate's degree in nursing with equivalent experience in lieu of BSN or above.Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.3 years of nursing experience, preferably dialysis or critical care nursing experience.Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians and hospital staff.Special certifications may be required by the department.Lurie Children's will consider visa sponsorship of qualified candidates for the registered nurse role, subject to all applicable law as well as business and budgetary limitations.Education
