Financial Planning Analyst/Associate AdvisorOverviewBe a part of our advisor team and develop and present financial plans, participate in client meetings, and provide follow-up analysis and advisory services to clients.Pursue a career path as a Financial Advisor who will become a crucial member of our financial planning and investment advisory team and be a contributor to our firm's long-term growth.This role does not involve expected sales targets, product sales/commissions, extensive administrative or intern-like responsibilities.Help fulfill our core purpose of empowering clients to lead impactful lives.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport a 5-member advisory team with client planning and servicing needs.Develop skills and technical expertise to increase advisory responsibilities over time.Manage projects involving multiple clients and technology platforms.Work from our La Jolla office at least 3 days a week (5 days/week to start) as a local resident of San Diego County.Desired Skills & AbilitiesA friendly and authentic attitude to enable trusted connections with employees and clients.Self-motivated and able to work effectively alone and within a small team environment.Excellent verbal and written communicator.Able to prioritize multiple tasks and is detail-oriented.Job FunctionsDevelop skills and knowledge in multiple areas of financial planning including financial projections, investments, insurance reviews, estate planning reviews, etc.Actively participate in client meetings in support of the firm’s advisors.Prepare financial plans, analyses, and client meeting presentations.Gather and maintain client data and input into various systems including Salesforce, Tamarac, eMoney, and others.Execute post-meeting client follow-up items, note input, and action items.Perform investment research and portfolio analyses of existing and potential new investment options.Work alongside outside professionals on a client’s behalf such as their CPA, Estate Attorney, or Insurance Agent.Address routine client questions and service requests.Help the Operations and Investment teams with client onboarding and other cross-department needs.Learn existing processes, identify opportunities to improve our service model and procedures, and assist with enhancements.Assist with annual planning projects (Required Minimum Distributions, tax planning, etc.).Help clients effectively use their technology resources such as their eMoney client portal.Support team members with educational and social event planning and preparation.Experience & Education RequirementsBachelor’s degree or higher (or equivalent).CFP certified or working to become certified shortly after employment.0-5 years of relevant industry experience or education in financial and tax planning.Compensation and Career Path DevelopmentSalary $55k - $75k depending on experience.Opportunity for individual and team-based bonuses.401(k) with company contribution (Safe Harbor).Generous PTO and Holidays.Health Insurance.Professional development (e.g. reimbursement for conference attendance or certifications).Internal growth opportunities in your desired area of focus.Opportunity for a path to Partnership.Monthly “lunch ‘n learns”, employee social or team building events.About UsFounded in 1991, we are an independent financial advisory firm that provides Wealth Management Services to successful families and professionals.
