QUALIFICATIONS:

MA RT license and ARRT Registry

Job Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Radiologist and according to established procedures, operates diagnostic X-ray equipment as required to obtain diagnostic films according to Radiologist specifications.

Performs diagnostic procedures in accordance with hospital guidelines, including fluoroscopy and invasive exams as required.

Responds to emergency situations according to departmental, clinic, and hospital policy.

Demonstrates excellent customer service through positive patient experience.

Maintains operational communication with Supv/Mgr; shares information and follows through with assigned tasks.

Works as a member of the health care team including physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals.

Operates and maintains exam room and equipment.

Recognizes examination findings that may require immediate clinical response and notifies the radiologist.

Assures ongoing compliance with JC, MQSA, and ACR regulatory requirements.

Performs accurate and high-quality exams to assure proper technique and positioning.

Maintains standards of skills in providing appropriate care for all patients.

Presents self to all patients and other customers in a pleasant, professional, and courteous manner.

Attends and participates in in-service meetings and other designated training events.

Reports any suggestions for positive changes within departmental policies/procedures to supervisor.

Accurately inputs data into appropriate computer applications and systems.

Assists in the training of technologists, residents, and students.

Observes strict safety standards in area of specialty.

Utilizes time effectively by coordinating patients and procedures.

Assists the radiologist in a wide range of sterile procedures.

Maintains radiation safety to patient, staff, and self according to departmental procedures.

Education:

Associates of Science, Certificate (Required)

Certifications:

Basic Life Support – American Heart Association, Radiography – American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
