The Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk's office is seeking qualified candidates for

APPRAISER II.

Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as interviews will be held on an ongoing basis.As an Appraiser II, you will independently perform appraisal work by interpreting and applying the California Revenue and Taxation Code. As you gain experience, you may be asked to assist higher appraiser classes with special appraisal projects.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year

of recent experience as an Appraiser I in the County of San Diego or equivalent position in another California County Assessor's Office;

ORThree (3) years

of recent professional experience appraising real or personal property.Note:

Recent work experience is defined as work experience within the past five (5) years.REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS

Required licenses, certifications and registrations must be maintained throughout employment in this class.LICENSE

A valid California Class C driver's license, which must be maintained throughout employment in this class, is required at time of appointment, or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel. Employees in this class may be required to use their own vehicle.CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Must possess a permanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization within one (1) year of appointment.CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.WORKING CONDITIONS

Travels extensively throughout the County. May be assigned to any work location in the County.EVALUATION

Qualified applicants will be placed on a

six (6) month
