Senior Application Developer

Today, we are helping companies take on some of the world's most critical and complex issues, including retirement funding and healthcare financing, risk management and regulatory compliance, data analytics and business transformation.Job ResponsibilitiesResearch, design, develop, and implement new solutions using C#, SQL, Azure and other leading technologiesResearch, design, develop, and implement new data, analytic, web-based & data-driven applicationsFormulate & architect solution designsTroubleshoot existing application codePerform ad hoc programming and analysisBuild ETL processes for client implementationsMentor junior developers according to best practices & industry standardsReview of peers' work product to validate quality resultsMinimum requirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related degree required5+ years of programming experienceSoftware architecture & design experienceExperience and proficiency with several technologies to include C#, ASP.NET, MVC, XML, JSON, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and jQueryExperience and proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL and/or other relational databasesExposure to managed services hosted on cloud platforms Azure & AWSExposure to reporting tools (e.g. Microsoft Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau)Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelStrong coding standards using best practicesCompetencies and Behaviors that Support Success in this RolePayer healthcare claim data experience, eligibility data and healthcare industry knowledgeKnowledge of and used software architecture frameworks and design patternsExperience with cloud technologies (Azure & AWS)Exposure to reporting tool (e.g. Microsoft Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau)Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelSystems methodology experienceSharp critical thinking skills, sound judgment and decision-making ability, and both the ability and willingness to clearly articulate your ideasUse of different approaches for working with multiple large data sets (e.g. Azure Synapse, Databricks, Data Lakes, etc.)An inherent sense of the value of collaborationThe ability to work both collaboratively and independentlyProven ability to work in a fast-paced environment where the client is always firstStrong understanding of software development life cycleEmphasis on best practices and industry standardsExperience with source code management systemsExtensive history starting projects from scratchThe TeamThe Senior Application Developer will join a team that thrives on leveraging technology, analytics, and data to deliver meaningful business value. The Senior Application Developer will join a mix of software development professionals and work on a number of different platforms and products with a focus on new innovations. In addition, as part of the broader Milliman landscape, they will work alongside Healthcare Actuaries, Pharmacists, Clinicians, and Physicians.
