Mission Technologies is leading the next evolution of national defense – the data evolution - by accelerating a breadth of national security solutions for government and commercial customers.Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for an individual to fill the role of a Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Engineering Sustainment Team (NEST) Engineer. This person works with a team that deploys and configures NCTE’s Navy Training Baseline (NTB) constructive simulation (e.g. JSAF, JBUS, etc) across the NCTE enterprise and performs other engineering and project activities in order to sustain LVC products and integrated capability within the NCTE. This position is located at Point Loma in San Diego, CA.Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.Installs new NTB software releases, upgrades, and patchesProvides engineering related support for NTB setup and configuration during the planning and execution of training eventsUses systems management software to monitor key simulation components and interfaces in order to respond to error conditions and ensure continued serviceTroubleshoots problems and coordinates with other teams when problems occurDevelops and maintains technical architecture, configuration, and status documentationMinimum Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.Preferred Requirements

Advanced understanding of Linux and Windows operating systemsAdvanced understanding of networking concepts, architectures, and transport technologies like TCP/IPAbility to utilize network and distributed modeling & simulation tools such as Wireshark and PLEXSYS is preferredKnowledge of Distributed Simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) is preferredKnowledge of Navy C4I tactical systems such as Link 16 and GCCS is preferredExperience working with Navy systems and/or commands desirable but not mandatory.CompTIA Security + and Linux+ certifications are required for the position and special consideration may be given for candidates with these certifications.Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret clearancePhysical Requirements

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
