$50-$70/hrJob Summary:

The Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining advanced telecommunications systems, with a focus on legacy switching and next-generation technologies. This role requires a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification and at least five (5) years of experience in telecommunications. The candidate will lead projects involving infrastructure design, engineering analysis, and support for public safety agencies and government entities. This position also includes supervising personnel and overseeing large-scale telecommunication projects.Key Responsibilities:

System Configuration & Maintenance : Configure and maintain telecommunications systems, including gateways, routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, network servers, multiplexers, calling card platforms, TDM, Dialogic, and VoIP systems (SIP, H.323 protocols, dial peers, and VoIP carrier trunking).Network Design : Translate business requirements into telecommunications infrastructure designs, including LAN, CAN, WAN, voice, and video systems.Infrastructure Development : Design cable/wiring infrastructure for voice, data, video, and wireless systems in construction projects.Engineering Analysis : Provide in-depth engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives to support strategic modernization and enhancement efforts for public safety agencies.Project Leadership : Supervise staff and personnel working on telecommunications infrastructure projects, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Program Management : Provide overall program management services, including making presentations to national, state, and local officials to discuss project plans and progress.Telecommunications Modernization : Support modernization initiatives for medium and large-scale telecommunications infrastructures, particularly for government public safety systems.Required Qualifications:

RCDD Certification : Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is mandatory.At least five (5) years of experience working with IT systems and technology in a telecommunications environment, including legacy switching systems and next-generation telecom technologies.Strong experience with configuring and maintaining gateways, routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, network servers, multiplexers, TDM, VoIP systems (SIP, H.323 protocols), and related telecommunications infrastructure.Proven ability to design and implement telecommunications systems based on business requirements, including voice, video, and data systems.Excellent analytical skills for conducting engineering analysis and identifying telecommunications solutions.Experience managing telecommunications projects, including personnel supervision and program management.Ability to communicate effectively and present technical solutions to stakeholders, including government officials.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with government or public safety telecommunications systems.Knowledge of strategic modernization efforts in telecommunications infrastructure.Experience managing medium to large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects.Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
