Job Overview:
Founded in 1917, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway is an acute care community hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. RWJ Rahway's emergency department cares for more than 32,000 patients per year. The hospital is a Primary Stroke Center with telemedicine capability for 24/7 coverage.
Qualifications:
Experienced Critical care or PACU Nurse with on-call responsibilities.
Critical care certified RN preferred - willingness to become certified within 1 year of hire; experience with working with post anesthesia patients.
Frequent admit and discharge responsibilities and be willing to flex within the division hours as unit needs dictate.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement.
BLS certification through American Heart Association.
Current American Heart Association ACLS/PALS required.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Scheduling Requirements:
Full time, evenings.
On-call requirement.
Essential Functions:
The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and administers individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements, and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
