This position is located in the DEA, Largo, MD (SFL3) & Miami, FL (SFL4).

The purpose of this position is to serve as ALD of a forensic field laboratory.

Applicants must meet the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of the announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcripts with your application.

Basic Requirements:

Applicants must meet ONE of the following qualification requirements: (A). Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics. OR (B). Combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Minimum Qualifications:

In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, applicants must have

one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 Federal grade level in performing a full range of duties to include managing a laboratory system quality assurance program; developing policies, programs and objectives for forensic science services; and overseeing administrative areas, including financial/operating plan development, data system management and personnel management.

Time-In-Grade Requirement:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
