Overview: Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Principal Technical Program Manager in the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Office of CO+I, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of technologies and establishing strategies in response to future market and business requirements. You will work with technical leadership to design new data center architectures and product solutions that enable new capabilities and improve the performance, efficiency, velocity, and reliability of Microsoft's data center.You will work with a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, and business partners to identify customer needs, generate innovative ideas, and deliver high-quality solutions. You will also collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure alignment with Microsoft's standards and specifications. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 data centers and 1 million servers, supporting services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide. With environmental sustainability and optimization at the forefront of our data center design and operations, we continue to grow and evolve as we meet the ever-changing business demands that hold Microsoft as a world-class cloud provider.This role is located in one or more hub locations: Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX, or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.Responsibilities: Provide program leadership for the system architecture and engineering team in developing innovative and scalable systems and products for Microsoft's data centers. Define the system requirements, specifications, architectures, and interfaces for the products, ensuring alignment with customer needs, industry standards, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as product management, software engineering, hardware engineering, networking, testing, and validation, to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of the products. Develop portfolio and identify highest priority programs, manage cross-functional dependencies, and set strategy for future technologies and capabilities of Microsoft's data centers, including system integration, verification, and validation activities, such as conducting prototype testing, field trials, and customer feedback sessions. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to the system engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.Other: Embody our culture and values.
