Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate

The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in computational or systems biology to study the interplay of environment, genetics, and epigenetics in the etiology of cancer and other chronic diseases. We look for a highly motivated and competitive postdoc with expertise in processing and analysis of genomic and epigenomic data, experience in multi-omics data integration, and working knowledge of computational modeling and machine learning. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze high dimensional sequencing data, perform network-based analysis (e.g., WGCNA) and functional enrichment analysis to identify key genes, including gene modules, drivers, and hubs, and their interaction networks that govern disease development in humans. The successful candidate will be a recent Ph.D. graduate in computational biology, systems biology, computer sciences, bioinformatics, or related disciplines, with demonstrated expertise in machine-learning-based approaches, programming skills, proficiency in Python and R, skills in bash/Linux command-line, and experience in cloud cluster computing and database management. Candidates with successful publication record in peer-reviewed journals are preferred. The annual base salary range for this position is $64,480 - $65,000. Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five years Minimum Experience: ~1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
