In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.Specialized Experience:
Specialized experience is defined as experience analyzing and resolving security problems in at least 2 of the following fields: personnel security (PERSEC), information security (INFOSEC), or Industrial Security; and providing guidance to management regarding the establishment of Information Security programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
