We are seeking a talented Business Intelligence Engineer with advanced SQL skills to support the ideation, development, and launch of exciting customer-facing initiatives in the forecasting space to support instock management for our Fresh grocery business.The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, think long-term, and have a passion for data, uncovering insights, and telling business stories to leaders and stakeholders through metrics and visualizations. You will be directly embedded in the business as a trusted partner informing strategy, tracking performance, and driving excellence.This role demands a high capacity to learn and be curious as we need to be constantly adapting to changes in our business and thinking about how we can bridge ambiguous business problems to actionable reporting and metrics. This also involves being up to speed with relevant tools and systems to help enable rapid iteration. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and innovate alongside talented Business Intelligence Engineers, Instock Managers, Operations and Category Program Managers, Product Managers, and Functional Leads.Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:Have a passion for sourcing, manipulating, and visualizing data via SQL and other tools to tell business stories.Maintain and become subject matter experts for reporting decks and dashboards that are used to manage a complex business.Voracious appetite to Learn and Be Curious and comfortable in a start-up environment.Thrive off of ambiguity, coming up with innovative solutions to solve cross-functional business problems.Ability to clearly communicate strategic findings and recommendations to a diverse audience while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.Translate complex, technical concepts into business terms and vice versa.Ability to create and follow efficient prioritization frameworks, balancing the macro and micro level needs of the business.An interest in learning new domain areas and developing unique, non-traditional methods to drive invention.Key job responsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Design, develop, and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analysis, dashboards on the key drivers of our business.Mine insights and use data to tell compelling business stories across topics such as supply chain, selection, customer demand insights, CX, etc.Support in feature prioritization by engaging stakeholders in constructive dialogues, simplifying ambiguous business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data.Flex your technical and business acumen to drive higher fidelity business decisions and operational excellence.Learn new BI, Retail, and Ops systems such that you can meaningfully support process innovation using automation techniques.Design, develop, and implement scalable, automated processes for data extraction, processing, and analysis.Minimum Qualifications:3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc. experience.Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
