Health,Dental, Vision, 401K, Paid Holiday, Paid Time Off,JOB PURPOSE: The Clinical Therapist position provides counseling assistance to chemically abusing or dependent persons. The Clinical Therapist collaborates with behavioral health team members in diagnosis and individual service plan by applying specialized knowledge of human development and behaviors and social, economic, and cultural systems in directly assisting individuals, families and groups to improve or restore their capacity for social functioning including counseling and the use of psychosocial interventions and social psychotherapy.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Assesses client's strengths, needs, abilities and preferences; formulates a diagnostic impression based on current DSM criteria; performs biopsychosocial assessment; and in conjunction with the client develops a workable plan for treatment.Investigates case situations and presents information to members of clinical team on client's family and social background pertinent to diagnosis and treatment.Completes treatment plans, discharge summaries and other chart-related documents and correspondence for assigned clients in a timely manner.Provides individual counseling and facilitate educational and counseling groups assigned and promptly chart these activities in the client's records.Therapists will carry a case load of 15-20 clients and 5-7 groups a week.Therapists are required to be on site from 8am-4pm.Selects approach to use in individual therapy such as directive, nondirective, and supportive therapy and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.Works cooperatively with other community resources and referral sources to coordinate services to clients.Strives to increase professional growth and effectiveness through training and by keeping abreast of current trends and theories in relevant areas.Provides direct behavioral health services including mental health and substance abuse services (i.e., psycho/social assessments, consultation, individual/group/ family therapy, professional in-service training and community education services, etc.) at a rate that achieves or exceeds the minimum direct service standard as established annuallyProvides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary.Maintains appropriate state license/registration/certification for scope of practice.Carries out other responsibilities as delegated.
