A day in the life of a Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator will perform system administration operations on all Windows server systems to maintain a functional and secure operating environment for each network in compliance with Government policies and regulations. Responsibilities include maintaining service levels of system availability and uptime, managing system resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability, troubleshooting and repairing system outages, and performing daily checks. The Systems Administrator will also develop, generate, maintain, and contribute to documentation (e.g., procedures, instructions) that pertain to and are applicable to managed systems. Additionally, the Systems Administrator will maintain compliant and secure systems for each network through availability and perform vulnerability management as required. Effective communication with all department levels is essential to ensure project success and user needs are identified and met. Participation in and providing technical evaluations in various meetings, groups, and/or committees is also expected. The role includes performing system administration operations on all virtualization systems and terminal services to maintain a functional and secure operating environment.

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

Must have a minimum of 4 years Systems Administration experience.

Preferred experience and administration in Microsoft Solutions, VMware, Citrix, and Oracle.

MCSE, CompTIA Server+, VMWare Certified Professional, certifications, or equivalent job experience.

Required Level of Security Clearance: Secret Clearance

Security Clearance Statement:

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen and reside in the State of Hawaii for consideration.
