Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc (HATCI) is looking for a Mid Level Interior Trim Engineer for our Superior Township, MI facility who will:
Design and develop Interior Trim parts, and perform releasing duties for North American-based vehicle projectsDevelop innovative solutions to improve from a cost/mass, performance, and quality perspectiveDevelop Engineering Concepts and see parts through to Mass ProductionCreate and present technical reports to communicate project status and resultsRecommend engineering improvements through assessing current designs and competitor benchmarkingUse previous experience to help mentor and develop fellow engineers within the groupBe responsible for generating and completing Advanced Development projects related to part- or system-level improvements for future vehicles

5+ years of working knowledge of Interior Trim Components: Pillar Trim, Carpet, Door Trim, Headliners, etc.Experience in cradle to grave product development best practices & processesKnowledge of US regulationsKnowledge of design, manufacturing, and assembly of Interior Trim componentsExperience utilizing Computer-Aided Design tools (capability in CATIA V5 ideal, but not required)Travel up to 15% of the time domestically and internationally
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering5+ years of experience requiredValid Driver's License & satisfactory driving recordCandidates applying for positions with Hyundai Kia must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
