What we need:
We are currently building a world-class eCommerce Platform that will optimize our digital ordering channels and technology innovations to create competitive advantages for our restaurants around the globe. We are seeking a Senior Architect who can lead the architecture, design, and implementation of our digital products and bridge the gap between cloud services and in-store technology for KFC Global.
As the Senior Architect, you will be part of the Architecture team, leading the architecture, design, and integration of our digital platforms with an eCommerce platform in the Digital & Technology group. The role will guide and inform on development Architecture, integrations, DevOps oversight as needed. This role will partner with market personnel regarding eCommerce platform integrations and also partner with all agency/vendor engineering relationships regarding digital development within the eCommerce platform.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the architecture and design of our eCommerce platform, POS system integration, middleware, and Admin Portal
Advise on engineering process and development for eCommerce, inclusive of development validation, story point estimation, agile process refinement, architecture inputs and validation checks
Drive Architecture design for iOS and Android apps and Progressive Web Apps built with React
Thought leader on DevOps surrounding eCommerce platform development and deployment
Partner with Market and Regional leaders to understand limitations and develop remediation steps to ensure platforms operate with KPIs and goals in mind.
Develop rapid prototyping and 3 rd
party tech integration capabilities as needed
Architect and design the integration between cloud services and in-store technology, and migration off legacy ecommerce backend solution.
Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance distributed systems and microservices
Design and implement event-driven architectures using MQTT and Kafka for real-time data processing and communication between systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives
Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, testing, and deployment
Mentor and guide junior architects and developers
Become a subject matter expert (SME) on our platforms and products to provide guidance and answer questions
Help design new features that cross multiple products, such as omni-channel loyalty redeemable both in-store and at the digital channels
You have:
A BS or higher in Computer Science or a related engineering field (MS preferred)
6+ years of experience as a software architect or senior engineer
Deep expertise in designing and implementing distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures
Strong background in backend technologies such as Node.js, Golang, and Kotlin
Experience with GraphQL and federated GraphQL architectures
Experience with MQTT and Kafka for building event-driven architectures
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Knowledge of in-store systems, such as POS systems, IoT devices, and their integration with cloud services
Experience with agile methodologies, tools, and CI/CD tools and processes
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
We Prefer Experience with:
Containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Serverless architectures and Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) platforms
Stream processing and real-time data pipelines
Data storage technologies such as SQL and NoSQL databases
Networking and security best practices for distributed systems
