The Staff Accountant I serves as a core member of the Accounting & Finance team by performing accounting functions and assisting with AR and AP as needed. This team member prepares a variety of transactions, supporting files, research, reports and answers to accounting related inquiries from internal departments. Additionally, this position contributes to the business by evaluating and reconciling general ledger accounts to be in compliance with IFRS. The Staff Accountant plays an important role in month-end and year-end closes.Essential Functions

Prepares general ledger entries and posts exception report adjusting entries.Supports monthly balance sheet reconciliations, bank account reconciliations and cash reporting.Supports compliance activities, including sales and use tax reporting, bottle deposit reporting and permit and license tracking.Assists with accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions and analysis as needed.Ensures the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and internal policies.Communicates effectively with non-finance team members by interpreting financial information.Completes tasks and projects in a timely manner, balancing multiple demands but continuing to meet critical deadlines and maintaining regular communication.Performs other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities

1-3 years of accounting experience required.Bachelor's degree in Accounting OR experience in a staff accountant role required.Multi-channel Consumer Goods industry experience preferred.Experience with sales and use tax and/or compliance reporting preferred.ERP/accounting software experience required; Microsoft D365 experience preferred.Intermediate to advanced Excel experience required.Excellent communication skills, ability to partner across teams and locations.Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.Excellent attention to detail.Physical Demands

Ability to sit continuously at a computer.Ability to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds on occasion.Work Environment

Work takes place in a remote (work from home) environment as well as in an office setting.
