Position summary

The Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of the organization. This role requires a strategic and analytical mindset, exceptional leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of financial principles and practices. The VP of Finance will collaborate with other executive team members to guide the company's financial strategy, drive growth, and ensure the organization's fiscal health and sustainability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy:

Develop and implement the company's financial strategy in alignment with overall business goals and objectives.

Provide insights and recommendations to the CEO and board of directors on financial matters, risk management, and opportunities for growth.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with strategic goals.

Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and present actionable recommendations to improve financial outcomes.

Monitor and report on key financial metrics, variances, and KPIs to stakeholders.

Treasury and Cash Management:

Manage the company's cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support operational needs and growth initiatives.

Develop and implement strategies for optimizing cash management, minimizing risks, and maximizing investment opportunities.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and regulatory filings.

Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.

Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions.

Risk Management:

Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks that could impact the organization's performance or reputation.

Implement internal controls and processes to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance.

Team Leadership and Development:

Provide strong leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Develop and mentor finance staff, promoting their professional growth and ensuring a high-performing team.

Capital Allocation and Investment:

Evaluate and prioritize investment opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, capital expenditures, and strategic partnerships.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess potential investments and provide financial insights.

Stakeholder Communication:

Communicate financial performance, strategies, and insights effectively to internal and external stakeholders, including executives, investors, and board members.
