Director of Technical Accounting .

SUMMARYReporting to the Director of Technical Accounting, you will be responsible for reviewing and providing technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, researching and interpreting US GAAP, and providing training and mentorship to other members of the accounting team. This position will be based in Lake Mary, Florida and will have a hybrid work schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform analysis and communication of complex, technical accounting considerations within Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. (MPWA).

Work directly with business unit CFOs and Controllers on significant accounting matters impacting the business, taking a proactive approach to accounting matters. This includes providing guidance on structuring of transactions and contracts.

Manage the day-to-day execution of external audits – including managing deliverables as requested by auditors. Work with the external auditors for our quarterly reviews and annual audit of the consolidated financial statements.

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Develop materials and provide accounting training to various stakeholders of MPWA.

Responsible for researching new accounting pronouncements (e.g. US GAAP, IFRS), developing framework and accounting memo creation. Assist with implementation and transition to new accounting standards.

Perform special projects and analysis as directed by the Director of Technical Accounting.

EDUCATION & SKILLSEducation and/or Experience:

Seven (7) years accounting experience.

Active CPA license.

Bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in Accounting.

Public Accounting and/or large multi-national company experience (experience with long-term construction contracts and services arrangements).

Experience with revenue recognition, leases, consolidations (i.e. ASC 810), and preparation of U.S. GAAP financial statements.

Skills:

Ability to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues, internal and external customers/clients of all professional levels.
