Summary:

You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT of JOINT TYPHOON WARCEN PEARL HARBOR HI.Responsibilities:Plan, schedule, and participate in the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications software supporting Joint Typhoon Warning Center operations and administration.Manage system resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability, and hardware and software configuration.Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.Ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services.Facilitate the gathering, analysis, and preservation of evidence used in the prosecution of computer crimes.Requirements:Conditions of Employment:Qualifications:

To qualify for a GS-11, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:Experience serving as a system administrator for Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) systems such as Raytheon High Speed Guard, Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System and FMQ-17/26 systems.Experience planning, scheduling and participating in the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and applications software.Experience managing user and administrator accounts, network permissions, and access to systems and equipment.Experience resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.Experience managing the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements including Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM), Computer Network Directives (CND), and additional authoritative guidance.Experience in learning and utilizing information technology (IT) concepts, principles, methods, and practices.Experience in administering systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 or greater, VMware vSphere 7.0 or greater, Windows 10, and Junos OS.Competencies:Attention to Detail:

Successfully completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR Successfully completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled. OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
