Job InformationThe Department of Chemistry at Florida International University is seeking adjunct instructors to teach courses offered within the department curriculum.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Utilizes Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for use in communication, assignments, and grading if applicable.

Attends training for Canvas LMS, if necessary.

Coordinates coursework with Supervisor, Program Leader, Discipline Lead, and/or Department Chair.

Maintains records of attendance, involvement, and progress through Canvas LMS if applicable.

Facilitates class instruction and assigned class content in accordance with the Learning Objectives that are developed by the Department.

Responds to students and Departmental correspondence promptly.

Communicates with students outside of class to provide supplementary instruction, when necessary.

Please note that this pool is open for the 2023-2024 academic year and is reviewed based on departmental needs. Screening of applications will occur as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.

Minimum QualificationsPrimary Instructor:

Master's Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or equivalent.

Secondary Instructor, Course Assistant and Other Instructional:

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or equivalent.

Desired Qualifications

Master's Degree in related field for Primary Instructor.
