Pen Bay Hospital is seeking a

BC/BE Emergency Medicine Physician

to join our growing team here in Rockport, Maine. This position offers a unique opportunity to work clinically and administratively acting as the Emergency Department Medical Director.The Medical Director is responsible for providing clinical and administrative oversight, direction, and leadership for the Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC) Emergency Department. The Medical Director position is comprised of administrative and clinical responsibilities as outlined in the Professional Responsibility Document (PRD). The Medical Director will work collaboratively with the ED Administrative Assistance, Associate Medical Director(s), and ED nursing leadership. The Medical Director is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality, timely care to patients seeking care through our Emergency Department.Qualifications/CharacteristicsMedical Doctorate or Doctorate of Osteopathy from an accredited medical school and completion of an emergency medicine residency programABEM/AOBEM Board CertifiedPrior management and leadership experience preferredLeadership training (Hanley Physician Executive Leadership Institute (PELI), MaineHealth Physician Leadership Development Fellowship (PLDF), or equivalent course) preferredExcellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus and engage physicians and APPsPen Bay is a 99-bed facility with a broad array of consult availability both locally and via the MaineHealth OneCall system. The hospital utilizes the Epic EMR, which is fully integrated with all hospital departments, physician practices, and other hospitals within the MaineHealth family. We seek a provider who is looking to work in a busy, fast-paced environment caring for the community as part of a patient-centered team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with our physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff in a Medical Director capacity.Additional InformationCoastal Maine is a scenic coastal community in the heart of a four-season recreation area.
