Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, and be capable of producing high-quality welds on a variety of materials. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, contribute to the fabrication of quality products, and collaborate with a team of skilled professionals.Responsibilities:Welding Operations: Perform welding operations using various techniques, including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and stick welding, to join metal components and structures according to engineering drawings, specifications, and welding procedures.Material Preparation: Prepare workpieces for welding by cleaning, grinding, beveling, and machining surfaces to remove contaminants, achieve proper fit-up, and ensure optimal weld quality and integrity.Welding Setup: Set up welding equipment, including welding machines, gas cylinders, torches, and fixtures, and select appropriate welding parameters, electrodes, and shielding gases based on material type, thickness, and welding specifications.Quality Assurance: Monitor welding processes, inspect welds visually and using non-destructive testing methods such as dye penetrant or ultrasonic testing, and perform in-process and final quality checks to verify weld quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), maintaining a clean and organized work area, and following safe welding practices to prevent accidents and injuries.Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to understand weld joint configurations, dimensions, tolerances, and welding requirements, and ensure that welds conform to specified criteria.Welding Documentation: Record welding parameters, material certifications, and inspection results in welding logs, reports, or electronic systems, and maintain accurate documentation of weld procedures, qualifications, and certifications.Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of welding equipment, including cleaning, calibrating, and replacing consumable parts, to ensure equipment performance and reliability.Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other welders, fabricators, and production team members to coordinate work activities, share knowledge and expertise, and ensure timely completion of projects according to schedule and quality standards.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings in welding operations, and participate in problem-solving activities, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in welding preferred.years of experience working as a welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, with proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding processes.Certification in welding processes (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX) preferred but not required.Knowledge of welding principles, metallurgy, and welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.Proficiency in operating welding equipment, including welding machines, gas cylinders, torches, and related tools and accessories.Attention to detail, precision, and quality, with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds in various positions and on different materials.Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues and make adjustments as needed.Commitment to safety, including knowledge of welding safety practices, hazards, and procedures, and adherence to safety regulations and protocols.Effective communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a positive attitude towards collaboration and continuous improvement.
