Senior Technical Designer - Men's Apparel

The Senior Technical Designer will oversee the fit development of design concepts from creation to mass production, ensuring accurate specifications and timely delivery. They will communicate seasonal fit direction strategy and possess strong knowledge in construction detail, pattern shape, and grading. This position includes supervision of an Assistant Technical Designer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-

Establish, maintain, and communicate fit and construction standards.Monitor and communicate seasonal development status' for prototype trackingDevelop technical packages, patterns, and construction within cost and margin goals.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute design and fit intent.Identify, communicate, and resolve technical or componentry issues in development.Communicate proactively with cross-functional teams/suppliers on all technical issues.Manage and provide technical leadership in fit session on a live model.Organize each fit session by preparing fit samples, ensuring garments are on spec, pattern was followed, and previous fit iteration is present.Evaluate current processes and make recommendations for any process changes that would maximize efficiencies.Manage the development calendar and surface any deadline issues that may result in the technical team not meeting deadlines.Maintaining an organized work environment; construction, sample and block library maintenance.REQUIRED SKILLS-

An individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties satisfactorily with minimal direction:Strong pattern making/correcting skillsDemonstrates sound working knowledge and understanding of grading, construction methods, textiles, garment testing, draping and fittingThorough understanding of the apparel development, testing and manufacturing processAbility to multi-task, proactively trouble shoot, problem solve, and the ability to effectively influenceAbility to assess complex situations, analyze data, make judgements and recommendations for resolutionAble to adapt and execute in a fast pace and changing environmentExcellent Written and Verbal Communication SkillsMicrosoft Office Word/ExcelIllustrator/ PhotoshopFlex PLMBrowzwear 3D and Gerber softwear experience a plusOverseas factory travel experience is a plusPHYSICAL CAPABILITIES-

Visual acuitySit for extended periods of time in one position.Ability to stand and maintain mobility for long periods of time during a fit sessionPossess normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordinationAbility to lift an adult form when adding or removing garments (35lbs)MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL-

AA/BA in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking or equivalent from an accredited college or university.MININUM EXPERIENCE-

8-10 years work experience in Apparel Technical Design and Patternmaking.2-3 years of experience in performance apparel development is required.Golf, Basketball, Soccer, Pickleball/Tennis, Hiking and RunningSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES-

Yes = Assistant, Associate or TD

The pay range for this position is $110,000-$125,000.
