Position Summary

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Desktop Applications Engineer to join the Firm's expanding Technology department. The Senior Desktop Applications Engineer will assist the firm by defining key elements of our desktop architecture, establishing best practices, and promoting an optimal user experience. In addition, this position will be responsible for image management, application packaging and deployment, Citrix/VDI management, and serve as a key technical resource in projects/tasks associated with the end-user PC environment, assists in the ownership of a variety of end-user applications, assists in the design, maintenance, operational stability, and security of the PC environment. This position may be remote, but the successful candidate must reside in a state where the firm has a physical office.

Essential Functions

Helps to ensure end-users have optimal PC user experienceHelps to ensure front-line support groups have procedures and tools to reimage, troubleshoot the desktop environment, and manage PC environment related incidents, problems, and requestsDevelops application packages for automated deploymentManages virtual environments and VDI infrastructureHelps to ensure the PC environment is stable with all other firm systems, which requires coordinated work with other IT Department teams and other firm administrative departments as requiredAssists in the inventory of software and PC hardware by developing inventory collection methods in conjunction with other owners of inventory assetsMust be proactive in ensuring systems are performing and continue to perform at optimal levelsThe position is part of the IT User Experience group, providing expert knowledge in the Desktop environment, change control of the desktop environment, escalated incidents from the Helpdesk, and may require after-hours, weekends, and holidays for emergencies and scheduled projects/tasks.The candidate must be available outside of scheduled work hours and respond during disasters or emergencies. Limited travel will be required.Requirements

7+ years experience in a Desktop Engineering role in a Windows PC environmentExpert knowledge and experience with desktop imaging processes, methods for streamlining desktop imaging and repairs, and systems to rollout images and applications, including updates, patches, and custom settings in the O/S and published applicationsExpert knowledge and experience with desktop O/S and applications: such as Windows 11, Microsoft 365 (Office, Sharepoint, Teams, OneDrive), hardware driver, BIOS/firmware management.Expert knowledge and experience managing a Citrix Virtual Application and Desktop (DaaS/VDI) platform, including image management, packaging, and deployment in a virtual environment.Expert knowledge and experience with packaging software using Admin Studio and InstallShieldExpert knowledge and experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)Expert knowledge and experience with Microsoft Intune (Windows devices, iOS and Android, Autopilot, Configuration management) and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)Expert knowledge and experience managing user profiles and settings, utilizing tools like Microsoft Group Policy, Ivanti Environment Manager, USMTStrong knowledge and experience with VBScript, AutoIT, and PowerShell scripting languagesStrong knowledge in managing desktop security requirements, including use of tools such as Microsoft Defender, Bitlocker, Applocker, Windows ACLs.Strong knowledge and experience with network and client infrastructure: such as backup strategies, server hardware, Microsoft server and client software, domain controller and GP management, login scripts, and network topologySuperior customer service/interpersonal skills, troubleshooting skills, and organizational and prioritizing skillsExpert ability to communicate clearly and concisely with Firm employees, clients and vendorsAbility to work as a member of a team or independently; ability to self-governExcellent sense of urgency and the ability to triage incidents, problems, tasks, and projects quickly and efficientlyLaw Firm or Legal Department experience preferredTechnical certifications such as A+, Network+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE preferredBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred

Benefits

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $99,120 and $148,680. In accordance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York City position is between $102,800 and $154,200. In accordance with California's amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $84,800 and $181,440. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $102,400 and $153,600. In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $100,160 and $150,240. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
