Job Description

The Senior Tech Artist is a key role that acts as a bridge between the artists and programmers, taking the lead in ensuring seamless integration of art content and features into the game while upholding the artistic vision and adhering to technical constraints. This position requires extensive experience and expertise in 3D graphics, rendering engines, and game development.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Lead collaboration efforts between art groups and programmers to effectively produce technically correct art content and successfully integrate it into the game engine.Provide expert guidance and support to artists and engineers in the use of the art pipeline and user-facing engine tools.Offer hands-on assistance to artists and engineers, focusing on asset performance and validation to ensure optimal quality and efficiency on mobile platforms.Tackle complex technical issues in the 3D asset pipeline, employing problem-solving skills to overcome challenges effectively.Collaborate closely with engineers and testers to diagnose and resolve in-game problems, ensuring a smooth gameplay experience.Maintain open communication with peers in all departments to facilitate collaboration and ensure alignment across teams.

Skills And Abilities

Extensive proficiency in 3D graphics, including modeling, particle systems, physics systems, and shaders, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.In-depth knowledge of various rendering engines, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and techniques.In-depth knowledge of 3D Character animation in Unity, setting up character controllers, rigidbodies, and timelines.Self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a collaborative team-player attitude.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Technical Artist role, working on the development of video games with at least 1 previously shipped title.Strong scripting experience in languages such as HLSL, Python, MEL, C#, and/or other programming languages commonly used in game development.Proven track record of creating and utilizing real-time shaders to achieve desired visual effects.Extensive experience with Unity game engine, showcasing the ability to utilize its full potential in game development.Deep passion for developing games and a keen eye for detail and quality.

Education & Experience

Previously shipped high quality PC, console, or mobile titles in an equivalent type roleMobile games development experienceScripting experience in HLSL, Python, MEL, C#, and/or other programming languagesExperience creating and using real-time shadersExtensive Unity experienceStrong passion for developing games

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work

Our core hours are 10:00am to 6:00pm CST, which means you should be available for meetings etc. during this time period.
