Job Description
To research, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain system and product solutions, applying knowledge of engineering principles. To provide technical direction and engineering support for projects and infrastructure. Develop and maintain expert functional knowledge of evolving IT engineering industry technologies/competition, concepts and trends.
Responsibilities
Full life-cycle project management
Establish and lead project teamsDevelop project plan/scope/schedule/cost/communicationsProcure and/or manage resources/timelines/deadlines/qualityRisk, Issue and Change managementEnsure successful project implementationScope of responsibility - Broad scope
Lead, guide and mentor less experienced staffApply engineering principles into the design and enhancement of new and existing systemsDocument new system components, or modifications to existing componentsEnsure the security and integrity of system and product solutions including compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering and Information Security principles and practicesPerform engineering tasks and assignments in support of business needsPerform engineering technology research, procurement, deployment, and configuration for new and modified systemsProvide technical leadership in the architecture discipline and development of information technology solutionsPresent clear, organized, and concise information to all audiences through a variety of media to enable effective business decisionsInstallation, Upgrade, and Migration of Oracle RAC databasesPerformance Tuning for Production Oracle databasesDesign and implementation of High Availability solutions with Oracle RAC and DataguardApply Oracle Quarterly Security Patches patch releases to databases to maintain security compliance24/7 on-call DBA rotation for supporting production environment for Oracle DB TeamPerform other duties as assignedQualifications
Significant experience in Oracle Security foundation implementing encryption at rest and Oracle network encryptionExperience in implementation and supporting Oracle Multi-tenant Architecture databasesAdvanced automation scripting experienceSignificant experience with Oracle EM and Oracle Fleet MaintenanceAdvanced knowledge of engineering disciplineAdvanced organizational, planning, and time management skillsAdvanced skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisionsExpert database and presentation software skillsExpert research, analytical, and problem solving skillsExpert verbal and written communication skillsExpert word processing and spreadsheet software skillsBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experienceDesired Qualification
Experience with AnsibleHours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM (24/7 on-call DBA rotation for supporting production environment for Oracle DB Team. One week on call rotation.)
