RESADA is seeking to hire a Certified Addiction Counselor for our Outpatient Program.

RESADA Does not offer working remotely from home. All counselors must be in person at our main facility in Las Animas, CO. M-F from 8AM to 5PM.

RESADA's Outpatient Program offers Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient programing to clients in the Arkansas Valley Region.

This position will require all applicants present their Certified Addiction Technician (CAT), Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), or Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) credentials and in good standing upon interview. The starting salary will be discussed during the interview as it pertains to your training background, educational level, as well as credential level.

The following is the positions job description:

Title: Outpatient Counselor

Summary: Performs skilled duties as Primary Counselor in the Outpatient Program.

Performs I00% substance abuse counseling duties for clients in various locations in our catchment area.

Qualifications:1. CAT, CAS, LAC counselor certification from BHA.2.

Minimum 2 years work experience in substance abuse treatment.3.

If a history of substance abuse/addiction exists, there shall be no evidence of employee substance abuse for a minimum two-year time period.4.

If a history of substance abuse/addiction exists, abstinence from alcohol/drugs use is mandatory.5.

Physically able to perform duties of the job. - Medical examination and approval may be required.

Ability to perform job requirements independently with minimal direct supervision.5.

Ability to perform clear and concise oral communications.6.

Ability to perform clear and concise written communications.

Responsibilities:1.

Perform duties, as a Primary Counselor, related to treatment of substance use, abuse, and addiction.2.

Provide individual/group counseling to clients and significant other persons concerned with client/s.3.

Initiate and maintain client care records: clinical notes, treatment plans, and reports.4.

Maintain confidentiality of client information, records, and identification, per Federal, State, and agency regulations, policies, and procedures.5.

Attend workshops and training, use literature/materials to enhance treatment information/methods.6.

Develop and maintain positive working relationship with community service agencies for coordination of client care and referral for treatment and/or case management.7.

Monitor payment of client fees, collection of fees, and submission of fees to the bookkeeper.8.

Participate in staffing of client/s and staff meetings.9.

Participate in program planning/development/evaluation.10.

Comply with supervision/evaluation of job performance.11.

Comply with Personnel Policies & Procedures. 12.

Comply with Treatment Policies & Procedures.13.  Perform other directives issued by the Executive Director.

Supervision:Receives supervision from Outpatient Supervisor.

Other:1.

This position requires working various hours of the day/night to accommodate client needs.2.

This employee is on twenty-four-hour call status.3.

Responsible for compliance with OBH counselor certification and program requirements related to obtaining and maintaining CAS certification.
