As the Business Continuity and Incident Management Consultant you will provide critical support in the successful achievement of the organizations Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) vision. You will provide crisis or emergency management expertise and support for Incident Management, Catastrophe (CAT) and Business Continuity programs and strategies. You will develop strong partnerships across the business, strategically and effectively exploiting certain risks, while reducing exposure to other risks, creating long-term sustainable value.

How you will create impact:

  • Assist in leading the Catastrophic Event Preparedness Strategy, Business Continuity Management program, and Major Incident Management Response Procedure and plan for the organization.
  • Provide consultation and guidance on the execution of the Catastrophic (CAT) Event Preparedness Strategy, Business Continuity Management program, and Major Incident Management Response Procedure and plan.
  • Establish Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Standards to be followed by the organization. Lead activities to ensure compliance with these Standards.
  • Write ERM procedures, standards, guidelines, reports, manuals, articles, etc. related to the Major Incident Management and Catastrophic Response Strategies and the Business Continuity program, that meet the needs of multiple audiences through research and development. Obtain feedback from various business areas.
  • Research, design, direct, lead and facilitate War Game testing for various response strategies.
  • Support the organization's Enterprise Risk Management program through leading or co-leading workshops for wide range of audiences.

To join our team:

  • You have 4 years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity, or a related field.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Business / Emergency Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Audit, Risk Management and Insurance or a related discipline.
  • You have the CBCP or CBCI designation and are working towards a FBCI, AFBCI, MBCP designation. Having the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) and Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset.
  • You demonstrate specialized in-depth understanding of business continuity, emergency management and governance frameworks.
  • You have strong knowledge in operational risk management, including IT practices, audit, AMF and OSFI requirements compliance.
  • You have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of theory and industry best practices, of emergency management and business continuity strategies and techniques as well as the methods used in performing risk and business impact analyses.


What you need to know:

  • You will travel occasionally.
  • Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required during major events.
  • This role deals with emergency response and incident management. As a result, sustained periods of high stress can be expected.
  • You will be subject to a Background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
