The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) is seeking to hire a visionary human resources professional who is a highly skilled leader to serve as our next

Director of the Office of Human Resources and Organizational Development (DOT Executive IV) . As Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development and key member of our team, you will be tasked with driving global talent acquisition and talent management strategies that are aligned to support the vision and execution of the Motor Vehicle Administration for the benefit of MDOT.

In this dynamic role, you will:Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, programs, processes, trainings, and initiatives to support organizations’ stated goals.Direct activity related to talent acquisition functions, full lifecycle recruitment, benefits, classification and compensation, background checks, labor relations, and training and organizational development.Implement management tools for attracting, retaining, and rewarding top-tier talent to execute MDOT strategic goals.Provide guidance and recommendations to the Administrator, Deputy Administrator, and Directors on new policies or legislation affecting the Administration.Oversee physical asset management and digital paperwork transition and retention.Provide coaching and professional development to members of the HR team.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.The current vacancy exists at MDOT MVA in the Office of Human Resources, which is located in Glen Burnie, MD. (Anne Arundel County).

This position may allow a hybrid work schedule, including telework and on-site work hours.

MDOT BenefitsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.

Experience : Seven (7) years of experience in a senior-level HR position, including five (5) years of experience in Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, or Senior HR Business Partner role.

The ideal candidate will possess diverse, professional experience in human resources, including some or all of the following areas: employment services, employer-employee relations, organizational development, classification/compensation, and recruitment/examination.
