Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the HDD Program Management Team to plan and define development phases, product requirements and product features.

Plan and coordinate new technology staging/prototyping and new product development.

Lead teams of various disciplines to collaborate in developing the Manufacturing Test Process and finalize for transfer to production.

Develop the Manufacturing Test Process and implement product features.

Work closely with subsystem teams (Electronics, Firmware, Servo/Mechanical, HDI, Failure Analysis) to:

Coordinate strategy to meet manufacturing test milestones.

Analyze and resolve issues identified during system integration.

Identify root cause of HDD failures and implement corrective actions.

Drive Yield Roadmap and improvements.

Identify and interpret data collection requirements.

Train factory teams and complete technical transfer.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Electronics, Engineering or Physical Sciences, Physics, or related field.

At least 6 years of engineering experience in the Electrical or Electronics Industry.

Ability to handle more than one project at a time.

Experience with Data Extraction, Data Analysis and Statistics.

Familiarity with Programming and Tool Development using TCL, Python, C, C++.

Exceptional Communication and Presentation abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge of both Windows & Linux operating systems.

PREFERRED:

Having experience in Hard Drive Technology would be an advantage.

SKILLS:

Strong Leadership & Problem Solving & Organization skills.

Compensation & Benefits Details:

An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, geographic location, and business needs.

The salary range is applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York, or remote jobs that can be performed in these states.

You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan and may also be eligible for our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program.
