Job SummaryThe Marketing Manager is responsible for all aspects of marketing—including website, social media, advertising, defining and maintaining brand positioning, and collateral production for Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. This role oversees third party creative, digital marketing, and social agencies, and works closely with food & beverage event partners. This includes negotiating contracts, copywriting, requesting and approving artwork, assessing ad effectiveness, and providing follow-up. This role also participates in branding discussions and monitors brand cohesiveness through all marketing materials. The ideal candidate is an experienced manager, creative, detail-oriented, and undeniably charismatic with a passion for music. This is an on-site position with the flexibility to work on a hybrid remote schedule.

ResponsibilitiesSummary of Essential Job Functions

Responsible for proposing and implementing marketing strategies to promote revenue generation and brand awareness in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Partners and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to drive marketing strategies and ensure consistency in messaging and branding.

Ensures effective communication to keep relevant departments and partners informed of marketing objectives.

Ensures brand alignment and compliance with Hard Rock International throughout property collateral, programming and digital efforts.

Oversees Marketing & Vibe Coordinator.

Maintains the hotel website with the support of the Marketing & Vibe Coordinator and digital agency.

Drives the creation of marketing projects, including digital and print assets like menus, signage, flyers, and more.

Develops and implements marketing campaigns and email communications with digital marketing agency.

Works closely with social media agency and Marketing & Vibe Coordinator on content calendars and story schedules for social channels.

Plans and executes photo and video shoots.

Oversees asset database of approved images and creative, ensuring the Marketing & Vibe Coordinator keeps all libraries organized and up to date.

Monitors marketing trends, tools and applications specific to the hotel industry and target market(s).

Works with Revenue Management to ensure maximum potential of key marketing strategies including, but not limited to, third party websites.

Measures and reports impact of marketing strategies, adjusting according to results and business levels.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of hotel marketing experience.

Possesses a positive attitude and the desire to motivate others.

Must be highly organized, resourceful, and able to manage multiple ongoing projects successfully.

Ability to form strong relationships with Hard Rock employees, vendors, and outside organizations.

Experience managing third party digital marketing, creative, public relations and social media agencies.

Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Strong written and spoken presentation skills with attention to detail.

Understanding of website development, SEO, and digital marketing.

In-depth knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., and best practices.

Excellent copywriting and content creation skills.

Experience with influencer collaboration.

Command of various software programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva, etc.

Experience with renovations and rebranding preferred.

Knowledge of the music industry (national and local) a plus.

Language Skills

Must possess excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as strong communication and listening skills.

Comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Multiple language abilities a plus, fluency in English required.

Other Requirements and Characteristics

The work requires light physical exertion with long periods of sitting, occasional standing, and walking; limited bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; occasional lifting/moving of items up to 25 pounds.
