Description

BigHat Biosciences is seeking an exceptional individual to support the identification and validation of high-value, disease-modifying therapeutic targets through literature based evaluations. These evaluations will be guided by priorities identified by our New Therapeutics Concepts team. The goals and responsibilities of this position include reviewing relevant scientific literature and public databases to evaluate therapeutic targets for BigHat’s growing pipeline as part of the New Therapeutic Concept team. The position has potential to grow into a broader role within new therapeutics discovery and therapeutic program development at BigHat.Goals and ResponsibilitiesSource, triage, and report on novel targets for next-generation antibody therapeutics

Deliver comprehensive primarily scientific deep dives into target biology and clinical opportunity

Identify opportunities where BigHat’s platform is uniquely capable of delivering transformative medicines to patients

Support the new therapeutics discovery and translational research team by working closely with the Chief Development Officer and Director of Translational Research to jointly design novel therapeutic programs that leverage unique molecular designs to address unmet clinical needs

About You / QualificationsYou have a stellar track record at top-tier institutions or companies; a strong scientific background and publication record; demonstrated technical proficiency in experimental biology or clinical medicine, with experiences and interests spanning multiple domains of human disease; excellent communication skills; insatiable intellectual curiosity; thrive in a fast-paced environment supporting a high-potential startup.

You love diving headfirst into diverse scientific and therapeutic areas, asking ‘what if’, and collaboratively brainstorming ambitious projects

MD or Ph.D. in biology, immunology, or related field

Strong scientific background with demonstrated technical mastery in a range of experimental approaches

Familiarity with interpreting (sc)RNA and protein expression data, translational and preclinical in vitro and in vivo data, and clinical trial results

Nice-to-Have: Experience in oncology, immunology, inflammatory or fibrotic diseases

Prior experience with protein or antibody engineering and/or therapeutics is preferred, but not necessary

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
