About the Position

Terminal Lead is the first level of management and is responsible for the operations of a Kenco Transportation Services location. The position will dispatch drivers, set appointments with customers, manage staffing, and are responsible for the overall safety of their site. Leads are responsible for customer relations and driver relationships at the site level. This role is expected to proactively communicate with customers and drivers on issues and delays. The Terminal Lead is also responsible for managing discipline with drivers and ensuring compliance with Safety training.

Functions

Manages non-exempt direct reports tied to the facility. The Lead is responsible for the hiring, qualifications, performance, and termination of Dedicated Delivery Specialists.

Responsible for processing terminated direct reports including removing access through UMRA, Infinity, Omnitracs, and disabling credit cards and fuel cards.

Oversee transportation safety functions for the site including completion of monthly training for drivers.

Create efficient routes to also include fuel stops and hotel stays.

Track and monitor fuel use and spending.

Dispatch and assign work for drivers including providing manifest and equipment inspections weekly.

Backup drivers and assist in customer deliveries as required for call outs and/or PTO.

Deliver and install customer products in residential locations and update customers on delivery times and expectations. Remove defective products from residential locations.

Participate in weekly 4DX meetings, in reference to KPIs (Turn Around Time, routing efficiencies, claims etc.).

Provide superior customer relations for both Kenco’s customer and the end customer. Maintain relations with clients.

Coordinate necessary repairs of fleet equipment to maintain operations.

Enter and update shipments throughout their lifecycle in the transportation management system.

Maintain list of fleet and company assets including monthly mileage updates.

Enter and validate payroll.

Responsible for delivery acceptance/rejection of inbound shipments. Scheduling of customer exchanges/deliveries, and outbound return shipments.

Responsible for weekly and monthly approvals, for purchasing, issuance of supplies and equipment, services, office equipment and expense reports.

Maintain all workman’s compensation and human resource files and secure all personal information.

Conduct the initial orientation and coordinate with the human resource point of contact for benefits and training.

Perform any other requests as directed by management.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Logistics, Business, or related field required or equivalent years of experience required. Equivalent years of experience is defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation or related training required.

Minimum 2 years of leadership and/or supervisory/managerial experience required.

Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service or driving a box truck.

CDL license not required; but preferred.

Understanding of budgeting and profit and loss statements preferred.

Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.

Proven customer service skills.

Be organized and detail oriented.

Ability to foster a teamwork environment.

Obtain customer’s certification for installations.

Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and Transportation Management System applications (For example: TMW, Mercury Gate, McLeod, etc.)

Ability to work with and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups or customers or employees of the organization.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Travel Requirements

This position is expected to travel approximately 25% or less.

A passport is not required, but recommended.

Approximate Pay: Approximately $65,000- $72,000 base + annual bonus
