Injury and illness treatment: evaluate and treat acute or serious injury (e.g., injections, sutures, fractures, concussions, etc.), or illness (e.g., chest pain, seizures, respiratory emergencies, etc.), or chemical exposuresUtilize expert professional clinical judgment to determine and arrange proper disposition of employees to a hospital, appropriate physician(s), home or return to workCollaborate with Clinical Manager and/or the Site Occupational Medical Director as needed to coordinate care, seek clinical help, and inform of worker injuriesContribute to the success of worksite health and safety programs and help optimize employees’ health, by performing various medical surveillance exams (e.g. medical and work histories, physical assessment, blood tests, audiograms, pulmonary function tests)Occupational Hazards: identify real and potential health problems and hazards at the workplace through methods including work-site surveys, toxicological literature research, and analysis of OSHA 300 logs and accident reports; maintain familiarity with workplace hazards, including chemical, physical and radiological hazards, consult with other safety and health team members to improve occupational health practices and eliminate safety hazardsCase Management: collaborate with the Clinical Manager and/or the Site Occupational Medical Director, clinic and HR staff for the assessment, planning, coordination and monitoring of quality and cost-effective options and services necessary to optimize the occupationally injured workers’ recovery and successful return to workSchedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4pmPosition offers 11 paid holidays and 5 sick daysWhat You Need to Bring to the Table:
Active and unrestricted California RN licenseBachelors Degree in Nursing preferredBLS/CPR certificate requiredThree (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with experience in Occupational Health; ER, Urgent Care, or Ortho experience considered in lieu of OH experienceFamiliarity with additional occupational health fields such as industrial hygiene and occupational safety a plusCertification as an Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S) highly preferredDemonstrate strong clinical judgment, collaborative and administrative capabilities, substantial nursing expertise, and demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing principles with strong communication skillsKnowledge of applicable federal, State of California and local regulations, including worker’s compensation laws and case management experienceProven excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal, and customer service skillsAbility to effectively interact with and talk to small and large groups of employees, including managers, to explain and answer questions about occupational health and wellness programsAbility to develop a working knowledge of complex Laboratory policies and proceduresAbility to travel as needed to attend meetings, receive medical education, and/or represent the organizationProficient with standard computer systems and applications in a professional business settingWhat’s In It For You?We welcome you to be a part of the largest global staffing companies to meet your career aspirations.
