At Watermark, our people come first!The Office of the Chief Security Officer (OCSO) for the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is responsible for the maintenance, care and operation of the buildings, grounds, and physical security enhancements of the U.S. Capitol Police, campus wide physical security infrastructure and an off-site campus supporting all legislative branch agencies. OCSO also manages the agency’s internal security programs and policies, including personnel suitability and badging and liaises with other partners regarding security matters.The Personnel Security Specialist II assists with the management and operations of the AOC Personnel Security Program.** This position is contingent upon contract award **
Major Duties:Performs security intake processing by receiving, reviewing, analyzing, and processing personnel security forms.Monitor the AOC centralized portal system daily to track the status of applicant requests for congressional credentials, background investigations, and federal drug testing.Scheduling pre-employment drug tests.Performing data entry duties pertaining to the personnel security processes.Perform administrative management functions for congressional credential management.Processing requests for additional information on security packages and following up on correspondence received.Answering general security processing inquiries and forwarding complex inquiries to the appropriate Personnel Security Specialist.Provide technical assistance to applicants completing their congressional security forms.Preparing memoranda, reports, and other reference documents.Advising the Personnel Security Specialist when a candidate has failed to provide the requested information.Provide necessary research, information gathering, reviewing, analyzing, and compiling pertinent personnel security information into a case summary.Properly safeguarding sensitive information to include, but not limited to, Privacy Act Protected Information, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and Classified National Security Information.Assist in any other personnel security duties, special projects, as requested.Professional Qualifications/Skills:Must have a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and the ability to maintain such clearance throughout the life of the contract.Minimum of four (4), preferably six (6), years of experience in Personnel Security.Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.Other Requirements:May be required to move equipment/files weighing up to 50 pounds.Requires ability to consistently perform repetitive tasks including filing and scanning.May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time.Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the ability to traverse between buildings.Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism.Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Other duties as assigned.Many considerations are taken into account when determining the final salary/hour rate, including but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, education and certifications, relevant work experience, related skills and competencies, as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
