Your Impact We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced VP, Sales to drive our company’s revenue growth by formulating and executing strategy with a focus on new business, renewals and upsell. This leader will have a deep understanding of the goals, opportunities, and challenges faced by telecommunications providers and will adeptly position Opensignal’s solutions with senior executives to meet these needs.
The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic acumen, with the ability to analyze financial, statistical, and economic data to shape a robust sales strategy. They will have a proven track record of establishing credibility with senior commercial leaders (CMO, CRO), upselling current customers and closing significant deals. This role requires a strong partnership with product development, client services and sales teams to align solutions with market demands by leveraging excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills. The role reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer.
Responsibilities
Sales Strategy
Define and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with business objectives and market opportunities.
Leverage Opensignal's unique value proposition to win new customers and upsell and renew existing client contracts, ensuring continuous engagement and maximized value for our current customers.
Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions to identify and capitalize on opportunities.
Determine a GTM strategy in collaboration with the product marketing team; strategically positioning Opensignal suite of distinctive solutions with mobile and fixed telecom operators.
Partner with the client delivery team to deepen Opensignal’s integration within client operations and GTM decision-making processes.
Collaborate closely with technical sales, product management, and client teams to integrate customer feedback and market intelligence into the product strategy.
Sales Performance
Develop and execute a territory plan to maximize revenue from the addressable market.
Target key telecom operators and execute strategic campaigns to achieve new client wins.
Identify and build relationships with key C-level executive stakeholders (e.g., CMO, CRO) within target customers.
Develop strong business relationships with existing customers to drive sales activities and deliver significant growth.
Lead the negotiation of substantial multi-year business contracts.
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders within the sales, client delivery, and product teams to contribute to Opensignal's global success.
Consistently deliver results that exceed sales targets for the region.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience as a quota contributor in sales with an exceptional track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and business objectives.
Experience of working remotely in a self-sufficient manner within a dynamic and flexible environment.
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority resulting in effective partnership with senior leaders on various teams; ultimately overseeing effective strategy implementation.
Strong consultative approach with the ability to influence, educate, and inspire stakeholders towards achieving common goals.
In-depth understanding of complex product/solution sales, with a proven track record of success in unstructured sales environments.
Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to deliver compelling sales pitches.
Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and commitment to meeting deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with team members, cross-functional teams, customers, and leadership.
Must have the ability to successfully operate on a short-term tactical basis as well as a longer-term strategic basis.
Commercially astute with a strong understanding of financial processes and business modeling; industry knowledge is a plus.
Ability to travel >30%.
