Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas (DCMCCT) , is seeking a Pediatric Congenital Heart Surgeon to be part of the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. This physician will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver world-class pediatric heart care and serve the growing need of the pediatric population in Central Texas. This position will assume co-responsibility for the treatment of complex congenital heart defects in newborns, children, adolescents, and adults. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in participation in clinical, research, and educational activities. A successful candidate will have a joint appointment within both the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care and the Department of Pediatrics at Dell Medical School, and regular participation in educational activities with medical students and residents will be expected. Opportunities for collaboration with medical and adjunct specialties will be encouraged to allow for the pursuit of innovative program development and clinical research initiatives. Successful candidates will have completed an additional fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, be Board Certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and be eligible for a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Texas. Essential Functions

Meets applicable credentialing and privileging standards for his/her specialty. Board certification. Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or the ability to obtain prior to appointment). Demonstrated leadership, clinical teaching, evaluation, and communication skills. Ability to influence/motivate others at all professional and administrative levels. Must be an innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence. Must possess tenacity, self-motivation, and initiative necessary to drive the development and maintenance of established and new programs. A track record of being able to lead, direct, and influence a team (regardless of reporting lines). Demonstrates behaviors of a team player and ease in collaboration amongst a multidisciplinary team. Eligible for appointment as an associate professor or higher at the University of Texas at Austin. Other related functions as assigned. Qualifications

Required Qualifications Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Meets applicable credentialing and privileging standards in specialty (medicine, surgery, anesthesia). Board certification or board eligible in critical care medicine within two (2) years of completion of training. Completion of a fellowship in critical care medicine at an accredited institution. Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or the ability to obtain prior to appointment). Proven experience in managing complex cardiovascular cases in an ICU setting. Exceptional clinical skills and proficiency in critical care procedures. Outstanding communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities. Passionate about teaching at the bedside and in the classroom. Fosters a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and empathy in the ICU. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Eligible for appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care. Application Instructions
